Hi! I'm Crystal Lee, a holistic career coach.

Crystal Lee - Holistic Career Coach

Through private coaching, group workshops, and self-guided resources,

I help mid-career and relocating professionals find the clarity and confidence to pursue their own definitions of success.

I know how frustrating it is to want change but not know how to make it happen. You’re scared of making the wrong move and being judged by others.

Is it worth the risk?

YES IT IS.

You shouldn't have to compromise your hopes, dreams, and well-being to fit into other people’s expectations of you.

It’s time to honor your true desires.

Since 2013, I’ve helped hundreds of job seekers and career changers get clear on what they want and move into action. My clients have landed dream jobs, relocated to new cities, started businesses, and successfully navigated major life transitions such as returning to work after a break and building a career in a new country.

My services are remote-friendly. I’ve worked with folks living across Canada from Vancouver to Ottawa, and as far as France and Taiwan. As a lifelong word nerd and culture straddler, I especially love to support clients with professional communications and navigating intercultural workplaces.

Get Grounded During a Stressful Time

"My meeting with Crystal was pivotal in finding my next job after a layoff. She gave me loads of useful resources that led to more interviews. She explained networking via LinkedIn in a way that helped me easily integrate it into my job search. She also helped ground me in the stressful time after losing a job. I couldn't recommend her services enough. Thank you, Crystal, for believing in me."

Build Confidence for Resumes and Interviews

"I am so glad that I got the chance to know Crystal. Before I started to write my resume, I was so worried and afraid. After talking to Crystal, she helped me figure out what I want to do in a new country and how to explore a new field. It helped me feel more confident to create my resume. Then I received feedback that was so useful, I got interviews with a bank and a pharmacy in Vancouver! I highly suggest working with Crystal to get the full support for what you need."

Understand How to Job Search in Canada

"Crystal is the kindest and most patient consultant I know. She is also very good at leveraging online tools to help me, like using video meetings and synced files to share examples. And after I revised my resume, she immediately assisted me by explaining the shortcomings and what could be improved. In addition to helping me fix my resume, she also gave me a detailed introduction to the working environment in Canada, the habits of various industries, and some interviewing techniques and attitudes. This helped me to be more confident in my job search and to know where to start my preparation. If you are also looking for a job and want to enter the Canadian employment environment, I recommend that you talk to Crystal first; it will definitely help."

There's so much division in the world. Relocal ori There's so much division in the world. Relocal originally started as a community to foster connection and shared learning. I think it's time to get back to that core.

While my 1:1 coaching work focuses on job seekers and career changers, I'd love to organize group programs that have a broader scope. Yes, we can support each other in the job search, but also more than that. Let's develop skills and peer support to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our workplaces and beyond.

I have some ideas, but ultimately, I want the new groups to support you based on where you're at in your journey right now.

If you're a job seeker or career changer who wants to build a more meaningful career, I'd like to hear from you. What supports would help you build a strong career foundation to do changemaking work in this world? Please head to my bio (linktree) and fill out the short survey to share your thoughts.

Those who complete the survey by September 30, 2023 will be entered into a draw for a 1-hour career coaching session (valued at $120) to be used in October 2023!

I'm elated to participate in @studio108community's Taster Weekend. My laughter session will be on Sep 10, from 1:30-2:00, but I highly recommend that you check out some of the other 15 sessions which range from pilates and breathwork to sound healing and various forms of yoga!

You can drop into my session for free. But why not try 4 sessions that afternoon for just $10? (I'll be there 😄) Registering in advance also guarantees there will be space for you in the studio.

As for what is laughter yoga? 😄 It's a series of movement and breathing exercises designed to stimulate laughter and cultivate an inner spirit of joy. It invites laughter without using jokes or humor. The yoga part is all about the deep breathing. You'll leave feeling fully refreshed!

No need to bring mats. Just wear comfy clothes and bring water.

When it comes to making decisions about our career When it comes to making decisions about our careers, there are some things we don't talk enough about.

💰 Money
It's great that there's more talk lately about pay transparency and the need to negotiate your salary. But have you ever sat down to assess your current financial situation? Do you have debt? Do you need money to pay rent next month? Do you financially support other family members? Do you have immediate goals like buying a house? These things can impact the urgency of your job search and the compensation package you're looking for.

❤️‍🩹 Health
This includes both physical and mental health. Maybe you're adjusting to new energy levels due to a health diagnosis. Maybe you burned out at your last job and your focus now is to rest more. Maybe you need robust health benefits or special accommodations at work. Your health matters when you're identifying companies and roles that will help you thrive.

🤝 Relationships
Social connections make life meaningful. The location of your friends, family, or romantic partners can play a big part in where you choose to work. Also, if the social atmosphere of your current workplace sucks, that could be a reason why you start browsing job search sites. Career decisions are often emotionally linked to the relationships in our life.

Everything is connected. As a Holistic Career Coach, I hold space to talk about all of it. Yes, I can review your resume, but let's also go deeper. What's really going on in your world? What are the real roadblocks?

🪄 Working together, we can get to the heart of things AND build you that awesome resume too.

When I left my full-time corporate job, it wasn't When I left my full-time corporate job, it wasn't because I hated it. I actually really liked the company I worked for!

✨I had just gotten a promotion with a salary bump.
✨I had a wonderful boss who nurtured my growth.
✨I worked with smart, driven, and kind coworkers.
✨I had good benefits and generous vacation days.
✨I could wear pajama bottoms all day.

🤔 So why did I quit?

I had just moved to a new city and my demanding job left me with little energy to do much else after work. I craved a sense of community. I wanted more variety and vibrancy in my day-to-day. I wanted control of my own time so I could move at my own pace. Really, what I wanted was to honor my core values across all areas of my life.

It became clear that my definition of success has little to do with money or prestige. Instead, I desired community, vibrancy, and gentle freedom each day. So I listened to my heart and started to make changes.

👉 Do you know YOUR core values?

It's time to stop chasing what society says you should value and start pursuing YOUR definition of success. One step at a time.

If you need help clarifying what you truly want, DM me "clarity". I'd be happy to chat and share some free resources to help you find clarity!

One year ago, I quit a high-paying corporate job. One year ago, I quit a high-paying corporate job. I was burnt out and felt completely numb. I didn't recognize myself anymore. I was scared to quit a steady paycheck, but I also trusted myself. I've moved, changed careers, and built things from scratch more than once before. I knew I'd make things work.

My garden project (turning my lawn into a food forest) was my steady companion through the whole experience. I still remember running out to accept the first delivery of mulch in the spring of 2022 and then running back to catch my next stressful client call. After tough work days, I'd go out and do another little thing in the garden. I kept feeding the soil, sowing seeds, and watering seedlings as I made changes in my work and life to feel energized again.

🌱🍅 And now look, what a difference a year has made! 🫛🌻

I'm often hard on myself and focus on all the things that I haven't accomplished yet. (Are you the same?) But small steps add up. My garden bounty reminds me of this, and I hope it reminds you too.

This week, I'm celebrating my (re)entry into full-time self-employment. It was only a whispered dream for the exhausted me of one year ago. But step by step, you can make dreams come true.

Where do YOU want to be in one year?

Comment or DM to share! I'd love to cheer you on.

It's common to feel fear and anxiety when you stretch yourself, but it doesn't have to hold you back in your career. You can take small actions, like documenting praise and celebrating wins, to remind yourself that you worked hard and deserve to be where you're at. Plus, you can take the next step to elevate yourself further.

I started reading Atomic Habits by @jamesclear 4 m I started reading Atomic Habits by @jamesclear 4 months ago but I stalled 1/4 way through. The book just sat in my living room because other things pulled me away. Other things always pull me away. Just like how I reduced my non-Relocal work hours 3 months ago to focus on writing and creating resources for job seekers and career changers, but I kept turning my attention to other things.

One of those things that kept pulling me away was my very cute but needy dog, Bean. 🐶 I love him dearly, but he loves me even more, demanding my attention All. The. Time. I'd start writing and then he would bring me his toys and pawed at me till I played with him. If I ignored him, scratching and barking would ensue. 😓

Then, last week I saw a video of @laciemevans wrapping her clingy cat with a @belugababy wrap! 💡 A solution, finally!

I realized that I had to apply the 4th Law for creating a good habit: Make it Easy. Having 2 hands free would make writing so much easier! 👐

Finding what works for you can take time, but keep moving forward, even if slowly. And if it means wearing your dog around your body, so be it.

Also I promise, those job search resources are coming your way! 🔜
