Do you work with newcomers to Canada? Do you see their struggles to find a job but you don’t have the capacity to help?
Hi! I’m Crystal Lee and I’m a career coach who facilitates job search workshops for newcomer-serving groups.
I have mentored and coached hundreds of newcomers along their job search journeys. I understand that the job search process can be overwhelming and frustrating. But it’s possible to break into the Canadian market with the right strategies and cultural understanding.
I have also worked as a staff member within non-profits and educational institutions. I know there isn’t always the time, resources, or expertise to help clients with their job search on top of everything else that needs to be done.
That’s where I come in as your career service partner. I deliver job search workshops that help your newcomer clients reach their professional goals.
In my group workshops, I explain the Canadian job search process in simple and direct terms. Participants learn exactly what they need to do at different stages and how to follow unspoken rules that will lead to better results.
As a partner, you can choose from pre-planned workshops, or we can customize workshops for your audience. Each workshop includes a preparation survey and follow-up resources for participants.
Sample workshops:
- Find your first job in Canada (3-part workshop series)
- How to tailor a resume
- How to write a cover letter
- How to prepare for an interview
- How to use LinkedIn for networking
- Professional communications in the Canadian workplace
How it works
Workshops are delivered virtually so that job search and communication techniques can be demonstrated through screen share. Virtual workshops also allow participants to join from across Canada and beyond.
In-person workshops may be requested on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver, BC. Workshop pricing varies based on topic, group size, and delivery method.
